Review: McDonald’s Mango Pineapple Smoothie

It ain’t gourmet, but that isn’t what you go to Mickey D’s for, is it? You go to get something fast and when you don’t feel like getting out of your car. Meanwhile, it has that delicious tropical flavor you love that enables you to mentally transport yourself to a tropical isle for a brief moment in time. The medium-sized smoothie has 270 calories and 1.5 grams of fat; the large has 350 calories and the same fat content. (How do they do that?) Not bad, considering it fills your stomach as well as a typical Lean Cuisine meal, and in this hot weather, is infinitely more appealing. Certainly more appealing than a salad from McDonalds (all of which have more calories and fat than the smoothie, I might add). All in all, it was an excellent choice for a quick, light lunch. If you don’t care for the Mango Pineapple flavor, they also carry strawberry banana and wild berry, both of which have fewer calories and fat than my personal favorite. No, I’m not getting paid for this, but if McDonalds wants to send me a small commisson, I won’t object.
